A special Gala was hosted on November 8th, 2013 by the Vietnamese Graduates from Australian Club (“VGAC”), for Australian alumni at Hanoi Daewoo Hotel in Hanoi. The ceremony was attended by senior officers from agencies of Vietnamese and Australian Government, representatives of universities and businesses from Vietnam and Australia, and a hundred of Australian alumni.
The Gala 2013 – “Australian Alumni Documentary Film Premiere” was one of the most important events of VGAC this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Australia. It is a good opportunity for Australian alumni to meet and network with their fellow friends, enjoy Australian atmosphere, and recall the best memory of living and studying in Australia.
Besides, VGAC also presents Australian Alumni Documentary film – the first documentary film about the Australian Alumni in Vietnam, who are also the members of VGAC. The film retells rewarding journeys and touching stories of Australian alumni, features 40 high profile alumni who have made significant achievements for the development of Vietnam, and for the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Australia. Moreover, the film also recalls golden memories of alumni while studying and living in Australia, to appreciate how Australian Education has helped them to gain high achievements in life and above all, the valuable experience for students who are and will choose Australia as a country for studying.
After 22 years since its establishment, under the great support and sponsorship of Australian Government, especially the Australian Education International and Australian Trade Commission, and sponsors’, VGAC has done various activities in all five chapters (Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho), to give alumni opportunities of life long learning, career supporting and networking. Those helpful activities make VGAC be the largest group of Alumni in Vietnam with more than 5,000 members.
Vietnamese Graduates from Australia has made significant achievements in education, culture, social development, business, and science. Such contributions of Australian alumni to the development of Vietnam help to strengthen the ties of Vietnam and Australia.
